Long-established stationer is people’s choice in new business competition.

ONE of Honiton’s longest established businesses has become the inaugural winner of a new award that recognises excellence.

Stationers A Dimond and Co received the Pride of Honiton Award at the annual meeting of Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry last week.

Colin Wright, the chamber’s chairman, said the public had nominated a total of 17 local businesses.

The runner-up was Wine World, in High Street.

Chris Warren, a director of A Dimond and Co, accepted the award at Allhallows Museum on Wednesday night.

He told The Midweek Herald: “I would like to thank the staff, because it is very much a team effort.”

Other nominated businesses were: Select Windows, Havills, Liquid Assets, Just Cards, Wing Hong, Barclays Bank, Chip and Pea, Champers, Roger Hemming Estate Agent, Iceland, Dogsbody Grooming, Peter Betteridge The Bed Expert, TRIP Community Transport Association, Honiton Toy Shop and The Paper Shop.
