The incident resulted in a trailer going through the central reservation and one car on its side.

The A30 Honiton westbound road is now open after a collision between two vehicles earlier this afternoon (Thursday).

Police were called about the incident at 12.44pm, which involved a towed trailer going through the central reservation.

This completely blocked the eastbound carriageway and left the towing car, a red Land Rover Discovery, on its side.

The other vehicle involved was a silver Mitsubishi Shogun. Both cars were registered to Dorset.

Police, fire and ambulance officers were on the scene as a cleanup operation got underway, including the release of two people from the 4x4 and a teenager trapped in the other vehicle.

A police spokesman said they are unsure if those trapped were injured, but they all made it out of the vehicles.

The dog unit was also called to assist with dogs in one of the vehicles.

The road reopened both sides shortly after 1.35pm.
