A35 road near Shute closed in both directions for as long as SIX hours for emergency repairs

A section of the A35 between Honiton and Axminster has been closed today (Saturday).

Maintenance workers are will be carrying out emergency repairs after power cables fell into the road.

The A35 between Shute Road (Shute) to The Hill (Kilmington) is closed in both directions.

Posting on Twitter at 12.26pm, chief inspector Adrian Leisk said: “The A35 closed in both directions at Kilmington, Devon to allow for Western Power to deal with a live cable over the carriageway.

“Road likely to be closed for six hours. Follow @HighwaysSWEST for updates. Police log 365 of 17/11.”
