FEARS that a police officer may have committed suicide in a parked patrol car have been allayed by Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.
Concerned members of the public called police after noticing the patrol car had been parked at the same spot, off a roundabout on the A30, for three days.
The car was still there this morning, at the turning to Exeter Airport.
However, a police spokesman said the vehicle had been left there as a high visibility deterrent and no officer had been in the car.
