School improves on on last year’s record number of A-A* grades

Students at Holyrood Academy in Chard have been celebrating an excellent set of A Level results.

Headteacher, Matthew Collins said: ‘We are delighted with our results this year. We are particularly pleased that we have further improved on last year’s record number of A level A-A* grades with more than a third of all grades being A*-B grades. Students from Holyrood are progressing to some of the finest Universities to study some of the most competitive courses available and this is testament to the hard work of our students and staff.

“We also take great pride at Holyrood in providing opportunities for our students so that they develop into well rounded individuals who are well prepared for later life.”

Dave MacCormick, director of Sixth Form added: “These excellent results in all subjects, both academic and vocational, were thoroughly deserved by this group of students and are testament to their attitude and hard work over the last two years.

“I would like to thank them and our fantastic team of staff for their hard work this year. Congratulations to the class of 2018.”
