I find it totally unacceptable that young people these days just can't afford a home and bring up a family in a stable and suitable environment. If only our political leaders had the will to solve the crisis, which they could tomorrow. Meanwhile, how about two suggestions? Make it a requirement that to buy a house in a certain area you must be working in that area for at least six months. Then make it so you need planning permission to change the use of a home to a buy-to-let or second home. Before everyone cries "we musn't interfere in the free market", get real - because it hasn't been a free market and has been manipulated for years. George BradburyCastle HillSeaton
