I am writing to say that I am in favor of the proposed Lidl store as at present I have to go to either Sidmouth, Exeter or Taunton. Although I like to shop in the town and avoid using Tesco as much as possible, I would like to see one of the discount supermarkets here as I have always found the quality extremely good and prices very reasonable. We have to realise that Honiton, unlike Sidmouth, is not populated by lots of wealthy people and, after losing Iceland, it must be more difficult for people on limited incomes to survive. Putting an Aldi or Lidl in Honiton would serve quite a large area so it could be seen as offering a service to people within a five to 10 mile radius.Kathy SwainBy email
