Biker seriously hurt in Axminster crash

A motorcyclist who was in collision with a car at Musbury Road, Axminster, on Saturday morning (November 3) suffered serious injuries, police have revealed.

The accident happened on the A358 near the junction with Woodbury Lane.

Police and ambulance were called to the scene at 9.35am and the Devon Air Ambulance landed on the Jubilee Field nearby.

The crash involved a Mazda 3 SE-L and a Kawasaki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, who comes from Exmouth, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital, in Plymouth.

The driver of the car also sustained head and chest injuries and was treated at the scene by the ambulance crew.

The road was closed to traffic in both directions but reopened at around 12.10pm following investigation works by police traffic officers.
