HONITON Town Council is to seek discussions with Devon County Council and the Highways Agency over plans by Aldi to develop a new supermarket at Turks Head.Councillors fear the scheme could be given the go-ahead by East Devon District Council - without pedestrian and highway improvements in place. They are concerned there could be a repeat of the Windmill Court scandal, which saw charity SeeAbility hand over £10,000 towards a pedestrian crossing that has yet to be provided. The town council raised pedestrian access and traffic issues as objections when Aldi tendered its original application for the store.
