PLANNING consultant Dan Templeton revealed Aldi has been seeking a site for a supermarket in Honiton since 2003."Right from the start, we engaged in consultation with the district council," he said.Mr Templeton said the site at Turks Head was not Aldi's first choice."We looked at other sites, closer to the town centre, but they weren't available to us," he explained. When Honiton Town Council raised objections to the initial scheme, project workers "regretted not coming to see the town council first".Mr Templeton said: "In some respects, we have gone back to almost first principles.
