Chair Heather Penwarden paid tribute to Alf at the group’s annual general meeting.

The founding treasurer of Honiton Memory Café has retired.

Alf Boom, who has been with the group for the last seven years, was praised by chairman Heather Penwarden at a packed annual general meeting at Honiton Methodist Hall.

Mrs Penwarden paid tribute to Alf’s dedicated commitment to the memory café and wished him well in his retirement.

Pat Perryman committee member presented Alf with a Honiton lace she had made, which was set in a glass paper weight.

Alf’s wife Sally was given some lace printed greetings cards and a flower arrangement.

David Lewis has taken over as the groups treasurer and all other committee members were voted back for a further 12 months.
