Former Lyme Regis Woodroffe School student Holly Voysey, 21, needs to raise £800 to finance her trip

A woman from All Saints is planning to spend three months working on community projects in South Africa.

Holly Voysey, 21, has been selected to join local volunteers as part of an aid project organised by the International Citizen Service (ICS).

But before she flies out this summer she needs to raise £800 to help fund her trip.

Holly, who went to school at Woodroffe, is currently studying for her BSc (Hons) in computing at Plymouth University, graduating this summer. She will be working as a volunteer in South Africa as part of a break before going into graduate jobs.

She told the Herald: “The project I’m working on is run by the development charity, Restless Development. Their main aims are to develop livelihoods, by improving job prospects and lifelong learning and educating people about HIV and AIDS.

“This is a unique opportunity to work alongside people from a different culture, who have requested help from young volunteers to fight poverty and make a difference where it’s needed most. I’m really excited to get out there.”

To help achieve her fundraising goal, Holly is holding a quiz night on Saturday, June 4, at All Saints Village Hall.

You can also support her fundraising at or text 70070 with the code HVHV91 followed by an amount (eg HVHV91 £5).
