More than 130 people on waiting list.
HONITON Town Council very much welcomes Alison Tottenham’s letter and the plea for landowners to put forward possible sites for allotments and readers will be aware that we have been appealing for such local sites for some time.
We would, however, like to take the opportunity to advise that, although there is no need to involve a local council at any stage of the proceedings, it remains a duty of Honiton Town Council to provide statutory allotments should the need be proven.
With over 130 people currently on the allotment association waiting list it therefore is an ongoing task for the Town Council to meet this need.
