A PLANNING application is to be prepared on behalf of Honiton Town Council for the creation of allotments in Honiton Bottom Road.

A PLANNING application is to be prepared on behalf of Honiton Town Council for the creation of allotments in Honiton Bottom Road.

Residents, who oppose the allotment plan, applied to Devon County Council to have the area turned into a town green, but had been unsuccessful, councillors heard this week.

They agreed to instruct a surveyor to carry out a survey of the site and for an application for change of use to be prepared at a cost of around £3,000.

The recently-formed Honiton Allotments Association is to be granted start-up funding from the town council.
