As a serving member of HM Forces I was unable to attend the public meeting in Honiton regarding Tesco's plan to relocate to Ottery Moor Lane. I have tried to keep an open mind on this issue. However, a number of things do concern me in that I do not think the views of all Honiton residents have been heard. Those at the meeting were mainly elderly people, who appear naturally resistant to change. Honiton has a long and proud history, however we are now in the 21st Century and, if we do not embrace change, then I believe Honiton and its younger generations will suffer. A new Tesco store is needed and would benefit the whole community. Through better consultation with Tesco and the local council, I am sure an alternative site with better transport infrastructure could be found. Mark Griffin Honiton
