I have just received a multi-coloured invitation to indicate my preferences for local government. This is subject to corruption in that the address for the Boundary Committee is given as The Knowle.This expensive exercise is entirely irrelevant in the face of Brussels' decision to change our method of local, indeed national, government. If these people, who should be at the "cutting edge" of our political affairs, do not know this then I shudder to think of what else they do not know. The many people who are indignant at yet another increase in local taxation will be deeply antagonised by this waste . Dennis B Cole Greencroft Buckerell
