Seaton Phoenix needs your help. We are a registered charity, working locally raising funds to bring improvements to various aspects of living in Seaton and the surrounding area.We have over 100 members, who pay £2 a year, and a small committee to organise all the events. The trouble is none of us is getting any younger and poor health is catching up with us. To say we are at crisis point may be pushing it a bit but, unless we get some younger members, we may possibly have to fold. No-one wants to see this happen, least of all those who willingly help out at our functions. So far this year we have provided two maces for the Fire and Ice Majorettes, fencing for Puffins Playgroup, sponsored the floral arrangements outside the town hall and bought equipment for the Axe Estuary Ringing Group, who keep track of the birdlife around the estuary. We run regular bingo sessions and on fine Saturday mornings we can be found selling plants, books and bric-a-brac in the Grove car park.I am therefore appealing for any readers who have a little time and energy to spare to give me a call on 01297 24728, or Jim Knight on 01297 22059.Mrs B A Dearden-Potter SecretarySeaton PhoenixThe Underfleet Seaton
