Show your support for the armed forces tomorrow (Saturday).
All are welcome to the annual Armed Forces Day in Honiton.
There will be plenty of events going on throughout the day on Saturday (June 29) in the town centre.
A vigil with the Baton will be held at the war memorial outside St Paul’s Church from 8am until 4pm, along with an exhibition in the Mackarness Hall from 10am.
The Armed Forces Day tribute march will start at 2.15pm and special guest Chelsea pensioner David Jackson will be in attendance.
Military vehicles, music and displays will also feature in the celebration.
There is still time to enter the Armed Forces Day art competition which centres on the theme “our armed forces”. Entries will be separated into three age categories: under-sevens, seven to 11, and 11 to 18.
All entries must be on A4-sized paper with the entrant’s name, age and a contact number, and should be handed in at Allhallows Musuem by Friday (June 28).
Special guest Chelsea pensioner David Jackson will be judging the entries, with the winner being announced at 3pm.
All the money raised during the event will benefit charities supporting those in the armed forces.
