Armed thief steals £100 from till

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in New Street.

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in New Street.Staff at Honiton Video were threatened by a man brandishing an extended baton and a knife at around 8.40pm last Saturday.DC Steve Harrington, of Honiton CID, said nobody was injured during the incident but that an armed man made off with takings from the till.The estimated amount taken is around £100."I am appealing for witnesses, who may have seen a man running from the shop," DC Harrington said."The description we have been given is that of a white male, who was wearing a black Beanie-style hat."He was wearing a tea towel-type red check cloth around his neck and a long PVC, leather-look black coat."The suspect is said to be five feet and five inches tall and of a heavy build.Anybody with information is urged to call Honiton CID on 08452 777444, quoting crime reference number KH/08/1003.
