A 44-year-old Honiton man has been released on police bail after being questioned about an assault on a woman in the town. It is alleged that the woman was grabbed from behind and pulled to the ground as she walked her dog. The victim, who is in her 30s, escaped with minor injuries. It is not known if the attack was sexually motivated, but specially trained officers have been interviewing the woman. Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They say the area next to the River Otter is popular with dog walkers and that someone may have seen the incident, which happened between 3.40pm and 4.30pm on Monday, July 21.
