Art aids funds for Manor Room

The Manor Room Improvement fund, at Upottery, is to get a boost from art.Two exhibitions are to be run alongside each other in the village later this month and entry fees from both will benefit the fund.Works on display have all been crafted by those who attend two art classes in the village.Former art teacher Linda Palmer runs her class from the Justice Room, opposite The Sidmouth Arms. Her exhibition will take place in the venue and will aim to show different stages of an art class. All media of painted art will be represented.Running simultaneously, will be an exhibition in the Manor Room where Gwengar Smart leads an art class. This will be a more formal exhibition, with work presented in frames and hung on walls and displays.The exhibitions will run from 10.30am to 4pm on November 29 and 30.There will be a 50p entry fee.
