The Maynard School in Exeter is running two competitions - one for sixth form students, and another for those in Year 10 and 11.

A first prize of 200 and other cash prizes will be awarded. Selected entrants can exhibit their work alongside major local and national artists as part of the Celebration of Art Exhibition to be held at the school from May 1 to 3, 2010.

Helen Reynolds, who is co-ordinating the exhibition, said: "The Maynard is really excited to be hosting the Celebration of Art Exhibition for the second time, and we hope that it will be bigger and better than ever."

Highly acclaimed artist Alan Cotton will again be judging the competition.

All forms of art are welcome, including sculpture, ceramics, photography, paint, graphite and animation.

Eligible students are invited to visit the school to make inquiries about the competition.
