Astounded by news

As a civil engineer, I was astounded when I heard, whilst visiting family, that a housing scheme for Seaton was turned down, and I have written to the government to complain.

As well as not generating much-needed jobs in the recession hit construction industry, the Seaton area of Devon is not prepared to build its quota of affordable homes like the rest of England and Wales has to.

I believe that all of the councillors should resign for not listening to the younger generation, who don't want to move out of the area, but will have to as they will not be able to afford a home at current prices.

They will also not be able to rent as there is not even enough affordable places to rent for 10 per cent of the youngsters, yet they will more than likely allow a couple of supermarket chains to open in completely the wrong area of the town,
