Axe Vale Canoe Club combined its annual prize-giving with a family paddle up the river.
More than 30 people of all ages took part in kayaks and canoes, before returning for some wet, fun games and the presentation of six awards to their junior members for progress and achievements.
The work of two club coaches, Graham Baker and Donna Vincent, was also recognised with awards presented by Paul Carroll from the British Canoeing Association.
These celebrated the successful setting up of a junior section as well as time and commitment they have given to the club. This was followed by cream tea with scones generously provided by Seaton Tesco thanks to its community champion Rhoda Snell.
The club, which is run on a voluntary basis throughout the year, welcomes new members and runs taster sessions and courses throughout the summer session.
It also supports local schools by running fun days and works with the wildlife trust to provide river safaris for keen bird watchers.
