This weekend of June 19 and 20 should have seen the Axminster Show Ground bustling with activity and excitement at the 26th Axe Vale Show.

It was with great regret that the organising team had no choice but to cancel this charity event for the second year running, as a result of the Covid pandemic.

“As a charity we do not hold significant reserves, if we had gone ahead and planned the Show and subsequently had to cancel it, we would have lost so much money that we would not be able to afford to put on a show in 2022. This was a risk that we were unable take.” said the chairman, Dr Simon Hodges.

“The purpose of this charity based show is two fold, not only is it about raising funds to support local groups and individuals, but it also brings together the local community for a weekend of enjoyment and opportunity. We want to keep the Show alive for years to come and once again be a highlight of the town’s annual agenda.”

Planning has already started for next year’s show, which will be staged on June 18 and 19,
2022, and the team of volunteers hopes to once again welcome locals and holiday makers for a fabulous weekend, where we can celebrate local businesses and traders, food and drink, entertainment and of course each other!
