Axminster bike club’s latest event at the Axminster Inn raises 450 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society

A rock night organised by members of the Axemen Bike Club raised 450 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Following last month’s event at the Axminster Inn members of the group presented the money to MS nurse specialist Gail Hayes, from the Mardon Centre, Exeter.

A spokesman said: “We would like to thank Carey and Mandy of the Axminster Inn for enabling us to hold the event there, all of the bands who gave up their time to come and play for us, all who donated raffle prizes and to everyone who came along in support and for giving so generously.”

The Axemen Bike Club is now busy planning its Music and Bike Show on June 29 and 30, to be held at the Five Bells Inn, Whitchurch Canonicorum, Near Charmouth.

The weekend event, starting on Friday from 8pm, will include eight live bands, rock disco, hog roast, raffle, late bar, campfire, barbecue and pub breakfasts.

Entry is by donation, families are welcome and camping is available for Friday and Saturday nights at 2 per person per night. A donation will again be made to a charity.
