Emergency services were called out to Musbury to rescue trapped motorists following a three vehicle collision.

Fire crews from Axminster, Colyton and a heavy rescue tender from Middlemoor were sent to the lane to Ashe Farm, near the village, shortly before 4.45pm yesterday (Sunday).

The fire service had been called after reports two people were still within the vehicles and upon arrival began working with the ambulance crews.

A fire service spokesman said: “Once the ambulance service assessed the casualties the crew got to work removing the vehicles doors with the use of small tools and hydraulic cutting equipment. Once the doors had been removed the casualties were able to leave the vehicle unaided. Both of the casualties were conveyed to hospital via land ambulance.

“Once the area was made safe and the casualties were in the care of the ambulance service the care of this incident was handed over to highways.”
