Lyme Town Mill exhibition promises to be a real ‘crowd pleaser’
Launching the summer season at Lyme Regis Town Mill Galleries this week are two exhibitions that look certain to be crowd-pleasers.
Axminster artist Lynda White’s new show, called Landscape and Locality, starts at the Courtyard on Thursday, May 26, until June 1, and the Lyme Regis Art Society annual exhibition takes over the Malthouse from Saturday, May 28, until June 8.
Although Lynda White is well known locally as both a painter and art teacher, few probably know that she grew up on a farm in North Devon and has spent much of her life in the rural south west.
Her quest to capture a sense of place and celebrate the richness and diversity of the local environment has remained the major focus of her work and has won her legions of fans.
Lynda will be at the Courtyard throughout the exhibition, open daily from 10.30am to 5pm, and will be pleased to talk to visitors about her work.
Meanwhile, Lyme Regis Art Society’s annual exhibition will offer the public a chance to sample the best of local amateur and professional talent. It is open daily from 10am to 5pm, but all are welcome to attend the preview on Friday. May 27, from 6pm to 8pm.
