AN Axminster burglary victim is warning Herald readers not to trust trickle vent locking systems on windows.
The man, who does not wish to be named, said "It's a hard enough thing to get over being burgled, but I feel your article on the front page of this week's Midweek Herald implied we'd left a window open.
"In fact, the window was closed and on a trickle vent locking system, with the handle locked down into position.
"Since the burglary, I've been looking at other people's windows and there are lots like it."
The man added: "I want people to be aware they are not necessarily safe on a trickle vent locking system.
