Complete Meats’s prized sausages narrowly miss out in national pork product contest
AWARD-winning Axminster butchers Complete Meats just failed to bring home the bacon when they competed in the Champion of Champions contest in London.
The competition to find the nation’s best pork products was held a the prestigious Butchers’ Hall in London.
Complete Meats were invited along as one of seven regional champions but their prized pork sausages were just pipped at the post for the national title by a pork pie, and they had to settle for the runner up spot.
Keith Fisher of the British Pig Executive butchery said: “This has been an exciting culmination of another incredibly successful year for the roadshow. We saw hundreds of butchers on our travels around the country and an extraordinary amount of top quality products come through for evaluation. The seven regional champions here today have achieved something to be very proud of.”
