CAR parking in Axminster is unaffordable for residents, according to a town councillor.
Cllr Sue Spiller said during the monthly meeting: "People live and work in Axminster who say they don't park in Axminster unless they have to because the charges are so high."
The remarks came following a report on a meeting with East Devon District Council about car parking.
Axminster was reported to make a �14,000 profit from parking in the town.
Mayor Ron Jones highlighted areas to be looked at, including the space needed for coaches and the possibility of concessions for the doctors' surgery.
