Axminster death ‘not suspicious’, say police

Officers confirm they are no longer treating the death of a woman at a local care home as “unexplained”.

Police say the sudden death of a woman, in her fifties, at an Axminster nursing home is not being treated as suspicious

Officers were called to Silverleigh, in Silver Street, on Tuesday morning and sealed the area while investigations took place.

But the police have now confirmed that the incident is no longer being treated as an “unexplained” death.

It is understood the dead woman was a resident at the care home.
