Three generations complete 362 lengths of the Flamingo Pool to raise 600

Axminster gradmother Jenny Palmer decided to make it a truly family affair when she organised a splash for cash to raise money for diabetes research.

She was joined her daughter Claire and granddaughters Maisie and Steph to complete 362 lengths of the Flamingo Pool to raise over 600.

The money will go to the Peninsula Foundation’s DIRECT diabetes project, which supports researchers at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry (PCMD) to better understand the condition.

Two members of Jenny’s family suffer from diabetes -

granddaughter Steph has type one, while her husband Chris has type two.

The Peninsula Foundation’s DIRECT diabetes project funds research initiatives that can be swiftly integrated into the health service, improving the healthcare of diabetes patients in the region and beyond.
