Burglars cause £9,000 damage and steal a large quantity of cigarettes and a £3,000 motorycle

Burglars caused £9,000 worth of damage and stole cigarettes and a motorcycle when they broke into an Axminster Garage.

Police have released details of the break in at Prospect Filling Station in Lyme Road, which they say took place between 6pm on Friday, April 29, and 6.30am the following day.

A large quantity of tobacco items was taken along with a £3,000 motorcycle

Offenders got inside the business by damaging the front shutter. An untidy search of the premises was made and extensive damage was caused to various locks and equipment.

The bike taken is an orange KTM motorcycle registration: WA57 UEO.

Police are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or individuals at the premises at the time of the offence.

They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the stolen motorcycle or from anyone who may have been offered it for sale. Call them on 101 quoting crime reference CR/027671/16
