‘Ugly’ concrete posts have been given a royal makeover for the Jubilee
AXMINSTER Guildhall’s “ugly” concrete posts have been given a right royal makeover.
They have each been topped with a crown to brighten up the forecourt during the Jubilee celebrations.
Town Clerk Hilary Kirkcaldie said the regal headgear was being put on the posts every day – but would be taken in at night in case they proved too much of a temptation for any high spirited royal revellers.
* The concrete posts were recently listed amongst ‘clean up Axminster’ campaigner Peter Bunce’s ‘dirty dozen’ list of local eyesores.
