PARENTS are to be warned about the dangers their children face on the internet at Axe Valley Community College's business centre.

The college is hosting an interactive internet safety awareness evening, to which all parents across the learning community are invited.

Parents and carers will be advised how to keep their children safe, while allowing them to benefit from the internet. The evening will look at cyber bullying, how children use chat rooms, access to the internet from mobile phones, the latest social network sites and how to protect your child from potential 'grooming'.

Pc Hayley Taylor, youth intervention officer, will discuss ways to support children. Places are limited and will be allocated on a 'first come first served' basis.

The event will take place on Thursday, December 3, from 6.30 to 8.30pm. If you would like to attend, contact Joan Tremblett, parent support worker, on 07540 672053.
