Axminster man pleads not guilty to theft

An Axminster man will appear at Exeter Crown Court next month after pleading not guilty to the theft of a number of power tools and garden items.

Jamie Wellman, of Blackpool Corner, near Axminster, appeared before Exeter Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 19 charged with three counts of theft and two burglaries.

The 23-year-old is accused of committing the offences between Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 7 of this year taking items including a barbecue, power washer, a post rammer and petrol rotivator.

He also pleaded not guilty to two offences of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal.

He was released on unconditional bail.

A trial is due to be held at Exeter Crown Court on Friday, July 20 at 10am.
