AXMINSTER Operatic Society has elected David Swift as president and Andrew Moulding as vice president.

AXMINSTER Operatic Society has elected David Swift as president and Andrew Moulding as vice president.

During its annual general meeting at the Conservative Club it also gave details about its next production, to be held in November - Showboat, written by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II.

The Society is organising a Barn Dance at the Guildhall on Saturday, March 13, with well known band Long Odds and Short Straws. The evening kicks off at 7.30pm and costs £7.50, which will include supper. Tickets are available from The Archway Bookshop on (01297) 33595.
