Staff, parents and friends at Rainbow Playgroup organised a sponsored trek to pay for tot’s specialist treatment
YOUNGSTERS from Axminster’s Rainbow Playgroup pulled on their walking boots to raise money for a child in need.
They held a sponsored walk from Seaton to Beer and back, to help with the cost of a special helmet for eight-month-old Isabelle Parker.
The youngster, whose brother Christopher, three, attends the playgroup, was born with plagiocephaly, also known as “Flathead Syndrome” - a condition characterised by a flattening on one side of the back of the head.
Staff, parents and friends at Rainbow Playgroup decided to help out when they heard parents Mike and Mel Parker needed to raise �2,000 for treatment which is not available on the NHS.
Manager Clare Male said when they learnt that Isabelle needed some special headgear to help her they decided to do all they could to help.
Money is still coming in but she said they hoped to have raised between �400 and �500 from the trek.
