AXMINSTER police Commando Challenge team raised over �900 for charity from a day s collection.
AXMINSTER police Commando Challenge team raised over �900 for charity from a day's collection.
The team took it in turns to collect outside Tesco on Saturday. The money will be split between the Royal British Legion and Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
Pc Kevin Bennett said: "I'm pleasantly surprised at people's generosity. It was a very worthwhile day. Thanks to all who gave so generously."
The team hope to raise up to �2,000 after Sunday's event.

Pc Bennett said he was looking forward to the event but hoping the weather would stay dry.
He said: "Friends and family of our group will be watching and it would be nice if it was sunny for them.
