AXMINSTER residents are being invited to take part in the largest blindfold walk in the country.
'Step into the Unknown' is being organised by Axminster and District Lions at noon at the Guildhall, on Thursday, October 8.
People will walk blindfolded towards the town centre at a distance of around 300 metres to raise awareness of the plight of blind or poorly sighted people.
Dave Gale, president of the Axminster branch, said: "It is not intended to raise money but we will have buckets to collect unwanted spectacles - but not spec cases, please - which will be sent for recycling to needy locations abroad."
