28-year-old accused of robbing Tesco and Prospect garages is remanded in custody to appear at the crown court

A 28 year-old man appeared before Exeter Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday, January 6) charged with robbing two garages at Axminster.

Jon Marc Stephens is accused of stealing cash from Prospect and Tesco petrol filling stations on December 24 and December 29 respectively.

He is also accused of carrying out robberies in Holsworthy and Bude during the past three weeks.

Stephens, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody to appear before Exeter Crown Court on January 30.
