The picturesque riverside garden at Weycroft Bed and Breakfast, near Axminster, provided the rather damp setting for another tai chi fundraising event.

Despite the wet weather, organisers, B and B owners Allan Howlings and Margaret Marciniak, raised £115 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event was free, but participants were invited to make a donation to the charity - and some of the regular tai chi students chipped in even though they were unable to go along. Mr Howlings said the sale of homemade cakes helped to swell the takings – and take minds off the weather.

Based at the bed and breakfast, ABC Tai Chi, run by Alan and Margaret, aims to promote the benefits of the martial art form, making it accessible to all members of the community regardless of their age or physical abilities.
