Kind-hearted members of Tesco’s Axminster team plan to cycle 300 miles to raise funds for the town’s mental health charity, Arc.
On Saturday, July 10, Helen Collins, the community liaison manager for Tesco in Axminster, has arranged for the team to cycle 300 miles in order to raise funds for Arc, Axminister's unique mental health charity that relies on donations and fundraising events in order to operate.
The Tesco team will be cycling on the static bike all day on Saturday.
They say: “Come on down and support the cyclists and enter the raffle for a fabulous hamper, all whilst supporting Arc.”
Helen said: “Tesco is keen to support local charities such as Arc, and as there is a definitive link between mental health and physical fitness, we felt that the static bike ride would be a great way to keep us fit and to raise funds for the benefit of the local community.”
Arc provides easily accessible, flexible, local counselling and psychotherapy at the heart of the community. The service supports the personal recovery of local patients registered at Axminster Medical Practice, who are seeking help through times of profound change, trauma and loss.
Their independent team of experienced and qualified therapists is based at Axminster Medical Practice. Thanks to this unique, professional integration and collaboration, any GPs and health professionals based there can refer someone to Arc.
Counsellors offer one-to-one sessions. They spend in-depth time with clients, looking at their needs and concerns.
The Arc charity shop in South Street, Axminster, will be open Tuesday to Friday from 9.30am to 4 pm and on Saturday from 9.30am to 2pm. Please phone in advance to organise a drop-off of donations, using this number: 01297 639333.
