Revitalised service chosen as one of Devon’s best

Axminster’s revitalised Tourist Information Centre has been named a finalist in this year’s Devon Tourism Awards to be announced on November 26.

Delighted officials say it is the culmination of much hard work to save the organisation which, less than two years ago, had a very uncertain future. Manager Jill Ruddick said: “I am delighted. Axminster is a fantastic place and to showcase it on a stage as big as this is wonderful. Without the ‘Friends’ and community supporting us and a committee as dedicated as ours, we would not have been able to achieve so much so quickly.”
