24-hour ploughing marathon raises £2,000 to help wounded servicemen and women
Members of Axminster Young Farmers’s Club dug deep to raise money for Help for Heroes.
They collected £2,000 for the charity at a 24-hour sponsored ploughathon.
The event, which was held at Burridge Farm, Chard, by kind permission of Edward Eames, saw 20 members plough for between one and two hours each, completing some 70 acres.
The club gave special thanks to Hamblys, who kindly sponsored them with a Claas tractor and a Lemken plough.
They also praised M P Hoare agricultural contractor for giving ploughing instruction and to everyone who helped, sponsored and supported the event.
