Event raises £450 towards school garden project

YOUNGSTERS at Axminster Primary School enjoyed an afternoon of festive fun - and raised money for a green initiative.

They set up stalls and took part in a variety of activities, including having a caricature of themselves drawn by professional artist Sarah Bailey.

Santa also paid a visit and there was face-painting along with cakes and toys to enjoy.

The event raised over £450 towards the school garden project, bringing the pupils a step closer to growing their own produce.

A school spokesman said: “We have already had support from our governors, staff, parents and local companies Bradfords and Westcrete, all of whom we would like to thank.”
