Young performers honed their skills at Axminster Drama Club workshop
Youngsters in Axminster had the chance to develop their theatre skills with a weekend workshop at Axminster Primary Academy recently.
Organised by Axminster Drama Club (ADC), around forty children, aged between nine and 16, took part in a range of drama activities, including tutorials about lighting and sound, stage combat and make-up, as well as acting, choreography and singing.
As part of the workshop, they put together their own production of Matilda - the musical, which was compressed into a 20-minute production for parents, which they performed at the end of the weekend.
Jack Price, ADC chairman, said: “We are all really proud of what the children achieved over the weekend. When you consider that our shows normally take three to four months to put together, you could see how hard they worked to put on the performance at the end of two days.
