Balti and Rogan Josh – whose dad was Vindaloo - bring home the silverware after competing at prestigious joint show

They are called Rogan Josh and Balti – and they are hot properties in the cat world.

Named after curries – like their dad Vindaloo – the brown spotted British shorthairs took away some top awards after appearing at a prestigious show, to the delight of their Axmouth owner Patricia Absalom.

Rogan - full name Imperial Grand Premier Charway Rogan Josh - was judged best British neuter at the Kernow Cat Show on Easter Saturday. He also won his first bronze Olympian certificate and took the best of breed title, plus many rosettes.

Meanwhile Imperial Grand Champion Wellmar Balti won best of breed in The South West British Shorthair Cat Club show – at the combined event - and a premier certificate in both Shows plus many rosettes.

The joint shows were held at The Matford Centre in Exeter.

Mrs Absalom, who keeps her cats at her home in Stepps Lane, said she named them after curries because they were brown – and “vey spicey”!

She told The Herald: “It was a very exciting show for me as I brought Rogan Josh out of retirement to enter and it was Balti’s first show as a neuter so I was really thrilled at how well they both did.

“They share the same father - Grand Champion Brynbuboo Vindaloo.
