A HONITON family welcomed a new addition on New Year's Day when baby Hamish Louis Terry was born.

A HONITON family welcomed a new addition on New Year's Day when baby Hamish Louis Terry was born.Hamish, who weighed in at 8lbs and 9oz, is the second son of primary school teacher Geraldine Coombe and refrigeration engineer Richard Terry, of Whitmore Way.The couple's elder son is Alfie.Hamish was born in Exeter at 4.50am - more than a week late.His mum went into labour at 5pm on New Year's Eve and was taken to hospital in Exeter at 12.30am.Proud dad Terry said: "I was hoping he would arrive on New Year's Day."When he's 18, he will really be able to celebrate."It will always be a Bank Holiday on his birthday."Mum Geraldine is a teacher at Manor Court Primary School, in Chard.Following the birth, she was transferred to the maternity unit at Honiton Community Hospital.
